Welcome to my profile, starting your counselling journey can feel overwhelming, so if you have found your way here, my hope for you is to find a therapist you love to work with. For me, this was incredibly healing.
I qualified as an Integrative Therapist, meaning I draw on different theories to support you as an individual, putting you at the heart of our work together because you matter.
I start with a free 15 min initial chat where you will be given the opportunity to discuss your current situation. I understand that even making that initial call and starting your counselling journey can feel daunting and it is my aim to help you feel at ease and answer any questions you may have.
I offer both short and long term face to face and online counselling for Adults, and face to face for Children and Young people. I bring with me a trauma sensitive and neurodivergent affirming touch which includes different therapies including talking, walk and talk and /or creative, a small amount of psycho education, gentle challenging, exploration and reflection with a caring, empathic and non judgmental approach, helping you to feel safe, heard and understood.
My special interest is working with the autonomic nervous system, understanding our physical and mental connection, why we feel the way we do, why we behave in a certain way and learning tools and techniques to regulate our emotions resulting in a calmer mind.
I have lived experience of ADHD, BPD/EUPD, self-harm, psychotic symptoms, addictions, anxiety and depression and I don’t believe that ‘one size’ fits all. I have worked within an agency, charity and school based settings before setting up my private practice, working with clients of differing ages, culture, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation facing difficulties in relationships, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional difficulties, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, infertility, anger, low self esteem, trauma, school based problems and bereavement. I will always work at a pace you feel comfortable with using a trauma sensitive and neurodivergent affirming approach.
By engaging in a free 15 minute chat, you can get a feel for me and decide if I am the right person for you.
I am a registered member of the BACP and working towards accreditation.
I have completed additional training which includes bereavement, ecotherapy: walk and talk therapy, CBT Essentials, Child Sexual Abuse – Hope for healing, Dealing with Distress: Working with Suicide and Self Harm, Embracing Suicide Parts: Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to heal traumatic wounds. And Assessing Risk in the Counselling Room.
